GPR:38 – Trauma Punx Comic/Zine
The second zine/comic through Give Praise records! This is a comic book written, drawn, and put together by Paul Barfo. Paul has been playing in Godstomper for a while, as well as putting together the artwork for Godstomper and the Barfos. This is a “Day In The Life…” styled comic through Paul’s hectic life.

GPR:37 – SPG “Special Patrol Group” 7″
Musicially mixing the approaches of American Hardcore, Japanese Hardcore, and Discharge; SPG’s first e.p. rips through 6 songs of politically charged, driving hardcore punk with lots of energy and urgency. Featuring members of I Hate This.

GPR/DHB – Bizarre X/Loaded For Bear “Split” LP
Fourteen new Bizarre X tracks of uncompromising drum’n’bass/grind madness with a typical Spazz influenced sound.That will be a surprise yeah. They are a legendary power-violence band anyway, complete with smart and educated lyrics. Next up is Loaded For Bear from Chicago. Their sound is a monster crash of death metal, hardcore and grindcore – fast heavy spastic loud caustic. Similar to Brutal Truth, Lack of Interest, and Drop Dead. (This is a split release with Dead Heroes Bros. from the Czech Republic, due to some mis-understandings, not at all the fault of either label, we have a limited amount of these and will be doing USA distribution.)

GPR:36 – Deep Shit/Have Fun “Split” 7″
This split brings together two raging fastcore/powerviolence thrash rippers. Deep Shit lays to the platter fast and high energy thrashcore. Raw and grindy vocals lay over fast and catchy thrashcore. On the same vein as a Killed In Action style, with thrash breaks and throaty vocals. Have Fun shred the vinyl with a more powerviolence fueled thrashcore. Along the lines of Spazz and early sounding bands, combined with a feel of Crucial Unit styled thrashcore.

GPR:35 – No Mans Slave “Siege Mentality” 7″
No Man’s Slave from Oklahoma bring a few elements to the table. Fast and anxious vocals over ripping thrashcore. Fast and blasting beats, in the same vein as Thrak. Combining stop-and-start powerviolence breaks with some catchy fastcore parts and shout-a-longs. This comes together to bring you a furious ear blasting.

GPR:34 – Streetcleaner “Mother Curse EP” 7″
Streetcleaner are a brutal blastcore band from the Texas area. Musically raging along the lines of powerviolence and stop-and-go blasting, combined with angry spitted vocals. This brings to mind bands like Severe, and more crucial to-the-point blasting bands.

GPR:33 – I Hate This/Raw Sewage “Split” 7″
I Hate This play raw and fast female fronted hardcore, pissed and real straight forward, no messing around, just fast and raw. Raw Sewage is now-defunct beer drenched thrashcore, bearing on the lines of power violence, bands like Hellnation come to mind.

GPR:32 – WPI/Duke Nukem Forever “Split” CD
WPI are a good mix of punk rock ‘n roll with reggae breakdowns and hardcore vocals. Combined with fast, thrash breaks to keep it all mixed together. Duke Nukem Forever are over the top thrash raging at 100 miles per hour. Plenty of hooks and fast spit vocals that are angry as hell. File them next to Terminal Youth.

GPR:31 – For The Worse/Kids Of Carnage “Split” 7″
For The Worse are local Boston ragers. This band is fast and rowdy, and they play old school styled blazing Boston hardcore, and they have some great influences, some members being in a Poor Excuse. Kids Of Carnage are back leaving another mark on Cape Cod, playing fast and snotty punkrock. Their newer stuff combines a bit more hardcore and mettalic punk, but while still being snotty and straight up, to-the-point hardcore.

GPR:30 – Operation Eat Shit “S/T” 7″
9 tracks in 11 minutes of early 80’s sounding hardcore with a real punk edge from France. Fast, raw, snotty, and loaded with catchy riffs and hooks. Put this in with a band somewhere along the lines of Sunpower musically, but with more of a early hardcore sound. This is a combination of their two split 7″s on one record.

GPR:29 – In Defence “Don’t Know How to Breakdance” LP
With a whole ton of split ep’s and 7″s, these dudes finally lay down a full-length to call their own. Blasting raw youthcrew, blended with 80’s thrashcore and hardcore, to bring you a catchy blast of original hardcore. Circle-pit friendly dance parts, and solid breaks, give this a catchy feel to rage with.

GPR:28.5 – In Defence/Black Market Fetus “Split” 7″
Black Market Fetus bring a deathly combination of critical ear blasting thrashcore with over the top death metal breaks and leads. In Defence continue to bring you more raging blasts of raw youthcrew,
blended with old school thrashcore and hardcore.

GPR:28 – No Class “Trendy” Cassette
Young and rowdy catchy punkrock. Real snotty, and raw. Catchy and pissed off vocals, with sing-a-long parts. This reminds me of bands like Warkrime, but with a younger rage.

GPR:27 – Final Draft “S/T” 7″ EP
Pissed and raw lyrics over hectic and blasting fastcore, from the land of Inglewood. This is a follow-up to the punishing demos and splits. Despise You comes to mind, but they have a original Inglewood style, all their own.

GPR:26 – Truth We Defend “Youth Army” CDEP
Fast and raw youth crew styled hardcore from Istanbul, Turkey. Energetic and sincere. Six rippers from a far corner of the globe. Not unlike Vitamin X or Justice.

GPR:25 – Thrak “S/T” 7″
Raging fast and raw powerviolence from these Pennsylvania boys! Think of Crossed Out and Neanderthal. Fast blasts that lead into raw and raging, head slamming breakdowns. These dudes are ripping this style with perfection!

GPR:24.5 – Trendy Bastard/Krupskaya “Split” 7″
A cross-Atlantic punk fest! Krupskaya, from the UK, blast and shriek through six tracks of ultra-fast and chaotic political grind that they are quickly becoming well known for. Flip the record over and you will hear the last six tracks to ever be recorded by Iowa’s favorite variety-metal, DIY-spirited bastards Trendy Bastard.

GPR:24 – Run Riot “Break Mirrors” 7″
Five Tracks of youthful and energetic punk/hardcore out of Cleveland. Mosh friendly but spastic, shouted vocals and a pissed off vibe. With songs like “I Don’t Hate Religion, I Just Hate You” you know what your in for.

GPR:23.5 – Complete Waste “S/T” 7″
Stop and go thrashy skate hardcore. Think of a raw ANS, and influences from older skatethrash bands. This the the follow-up to their demo and appearance on the Twin Cites Hardcore comp.

GPR:23 – Weedsteeler/Nautical Hyperblast “Split” 7″
Both bands come from the land of Ohio – Nautical Hyperblast bring you music that sounds like epic metal to kill barbarians with while at the same time blasting off into spastic grindcore. Weedsteeler is a super raw and rough breed of fastcore, think of Hatemail Killerz and Charles Bronson.

Bastardass bring you stop-and-start thrashy noisy hardcore. Growls and pounding guitars and drums with angry, shouting vocals. All Gone Dead bring you more of a minimal and raw noisecore, like Godstomper. Screeching and raw sleighing lines.

GPR:19 – Kids of Carnage “First Two Years – Discography” CD
Cape Cod’s own snotty punk rockers are back with some more carnage! This features the first 7″, the demo, the soon-to-be release second 7″, and some stuff that will only be on this disc. While keeping the same snotty and fast punk ‘tude, these guys throw in some more metalic riffs and melody, with two new members. Packaged in a slip sleeve with a color photo insert with a whole ton of lovely Cape Cod scumbags!

A look at the Twin Cities hardcore scene right now. From fast thrash to angry punk rock, and some rough grind… All the bands flow through so you can get a good look into the Twin Cities diverse scene. Skateboard thrashers from France come back to destroy with the discography that collects it all.
Fast punk hardcore with some mosh parts and crunchy vocals… tied in with lyrics about thrashing and skating, with diy and raw recordings! Listen and shred the deck, comes packed in a 7″ jacket with some stuff from Frankie’s history.

GPR:14 – Birds of a Feather/In Defence “Split” 7″
Birds of a Feather are a Dutch straightedge band that have been doing this for a while… fast and catchy hardcore that is tight and picks up some melody at parts. In Defence is back with more of their unique styled hardcore. Youthcrew fueled by some raw punk parts, sing-a-longs and circle pits.

Totally fast and chaotic thrash hardcore from these Boston kids. Fast explosions that wind into fast circle pit parts… blasting yet again into the crazed fast thrashy raw hardcore. Only slowing down at a few parts to pause and get you ready for the next blast.

GPR:12 – V/A “4 Bands to Drain Your Pool” 12″
Compiling the best and most crucial bands in the skate thrashcore and hardcore scene right now. Rip through tracks from skate rockers, A.N.S., and Rat Byte, and then blast down the noise barrage with No Comply and BadEatingHabits. Grab your board and shred to death.

Simple and rythamtic laid out fast hardcore. It goes into fast paced two step parts, and then blasts right back into the simple fastcore these young dudes from Long Island do best.

GPR:09 – Kids of Carnage “S/T” 7″
A band from the land of sand and beach errosion! Kids of Carnage play fast and snotty punkrock. Laced together with some thrashy guitar leads and this pulls off very nicely! Fast and angry with songs about how tough you are after a Cape Cod winter!

GPR:08 – In Defence/Guns ‘N Rosa Parks “Split” 7″
In Defence is back with more youthcrew styled hardcore. This time it’s a little more aggresive, then before. Pick up the styles of some early youthcrew and fast hardcore looped over some aggresive style vocals…. Pit this together with Guns ‘N Rosa Parks who play 80’s styled hardcore. It’s
kind of like angry street hardcore, you can think of Poison Idea and pound down and party.

GPR:07 – Nervous Breakdown “Join The Army E.P.” 7″
Oldschool hardcore from Germany. All about the circlepits and old school sing-a-longs of the old American hardcore days. From fast to slow, mosh breaks and fast circlepit parts… these guys have fun just like the old school punk kids used to have, before it got beat up with too much hardcore! Combine the fun feel with smart lyrics about oppresion brought from people who just follow orders, and scene-core police… it comes together well!

GPR:06 – Death Sentence/CTHUWULF “Split” 7″
Death Sententce are some old dogs from Austrailia. Coming from a bunch of unreleased songs and rehearsal and demo tapes, they bring you some classic old school hardcore. Fast and angry, like it used to be! CTHUWULF pay total homage to their gods Mob 47. Old styled thrashcore, breaking off into low growls!

GPR:05 – V/A “Skate Attack Vol. 1″ Cassette
Grab your skateboard, check out of the cubicle, blast down the office doors and shred the curb. Take it back to when street skating was fun and not every skateboarder had to stay in a park, but shredded a office park! KILLED IN ACTION, TEMPER, STREET SHARKS, MAKHLOK PEROSAK, ANS, BAIL OUT!. CONCRETE EVIDENCE, COMMON ENEMY, BADEATINGHABITS, and MEDIA CIRCUS.

GPR:04 – Trendy Bastard “One Sided” 7″
8 minutes crammed onto a 7″, with silkscreened b-sides. Musically, Trendy Bastard play a very unique brand of ultra metal influenced grindcore. Low growls, to high screeched, breaking off into metal influenced guitar leads that quickly get bogged down by furious drumming and bass lines.

Think of Warzone, Cro-Mags, 7 Seconds, and Gorilla Biscuits and you get these guys! Total fast and fun youthcrew like it used to be, but with enough radical riffs to keep you thinking of Warzone! Bunched of with sing-a-long vocals and throw your finger in the air hardcore… and you have this piece of vinyl.

Welcome Killed In Action… as they bring you a mix of very raw and diy felt powerviolence combined with a brand of new thrashcore, combine that along with lyrics about drugs, hating people, and other choice items, and you have this sweet vinyl platter.
